Note Cards: Wafer Iron Cards.
A double sided card reproduced from a rubbing carefully made from the inner surfaces showing both plates of our 8th century wafer iron. One side bears the initials PW and GW, the other shows a floral image and scroll work. These impressions would have been baked into the surfaces of the wafers over a bed of hot coals at the hearth.
